After getting a certain level of empathy with your partner, it is time to discover the force that shapes your partner’s actions and behaviors. Your task is to discover and meet your partner’s needs. You need to work together to discover those needs and find healthy ways to meet them.

Always love your partner regardless of what happens.

Loving no matter what will enable you to embrace the power of love and passion. Your task is to remain open and present for your partner, even during most painful situations. The biggest danger that relationships face is when one or both partners withhold love. This means when one or both partners run their relationship at levels 1 or 2. When you indulge in behaviors of criticism, judgment, blame or rejection, the relationship will start to deteriorate.   1. Interrupt disempowering patterns.

  1. Define the problem in solvable terms

Your success will depend on your ability to formulate challenges in solvable terms, which will in turn allow you to create solutions.

  1. Create empowering alternatives.

To overcome obstacles, it is crucial to create empowering alternatives. Alternatives are available to everyone everywhere, you just need to be able to identify them. Within your imagination, you can envision dozens of alternatives. While it may not be easy to think about empowering alternatives, especially when your brain habitually clings to disempowering patterns, when you follow this process and reach this step, the empowering alternatives will follow.

  1. Condition the new behavior

Once you have thought up empowering alternatives, you need to condition them to become a part of your daily activities. Conditioning new behaviors, emotions, and decisions relies upon installing new patterns to replace old, disempowering ones. As the saying goes, “fake it until you make it.” You must rehearse and condition this new pattern until it becomes a new habit.

  1. Relate to a higher purpose.

In order to sustain any change or commitment, it is essential to relate it to a higher purpose. Embarking on new challenges requires great commitment and effort. Therefore, it is essential to constantly remind yourself of the meaning and role of your new life choices and changes. Linking your changes to a higher purpose will enable and encourage you to follow through.
